The Importance Of Values
"It's not hard to make decisions when you know what your values are" says Roy Disney.
With virtually half of Australians claiming no religion, why does it seem that most of us are in search of the meaning of life?
Why people believe in what they believe in is fascinating, and so too is whether or not they were born into this belief system or if they consciously chose to embark on it.
Many now experience the freedom to choose a belief system different to that in which they were raised and having this luxury of free choice and the ability to live in a largely safe, multicultural environment, means we can live according to the value system that serves us best. Witnessing those who flounder about and often lose direction or clear sight of what matters most, it can be fascinating to uncover whether or not they have a clear value system. When once has clear beliefs, they can revise and apply their values to gain clarity on choosing which path to take next, should they arrive at a crossroads. Understanding this, you can see just how important having clear values are. It is easier to understand why people follow a religious faith which gives their life purpose and meaning and you can see how important this is for the more harmonious functioning of our greater society (provided it doesn’t escalate to conflict between different belief sectors). The more we are gifted with a set of values to help us during the turbulence of life, the more fully functioning we are and the greater our contribution can be. There is this flow on affect that ripples out impacting those around us, offering more teachings as we lead by example. Here are some invaluable Spiritual Values* for you to ponder: 1. Karma – confronting the situations in your life arising from pre-existing debt

When was the last time you took stock of your values and how they play out in your life? Are you clear on what they are? Do you need to make any changes or updates? Be sure to regularly check-in on your value system so that it is in the front of your mind and can serve you well. As always, follow your heart and allow it to guide you for it surely knows the way.
